Scholarships Available!
PLEASE NOTE: the scholarship application deadline has passed. We are no longer accepting applications.
A limited number of scholarships are available for students. We are offering three tiers of awards. Scholarships will awarded based on merit and need, as demonstrated by the application.

  • Tier 1: The Floragenix/Biota Travel Scholarship: $300 for travel costs, plus free lodging and registration.
  • Tier 2: Free lodging and registration
  • Tier 3: Free registration

Free lodging equals 1/2 the cost of a standard double queen room at The Nines Hotel, for Friday (Feb. 10) and Saturday night (Feb. 11).

TO APPLY: Send an email to evodevo2012@evodevo2012.org with the phrase "TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP" in the subject. In the email, please indicate the following information:

  • your name
  • your current institution
  • the degree you are pursuing, and your year within that program
  • the name of your academic advisor and/or the name of the lab in which you are currently working.

Please write a few paragraphs (not exceeding 600 words), and answer the following questions:

  • How does your research contribute to the fields of evolution, development, and genomics?
  • How will you (and/or your lab) benefit from attending this symposium?

If you are planning to submit a poster, you may also submit your poster abstract with your application if you feel it would strengthen your application. (Click here for poster submission information) Your poster abstract does not count towards the ~600 word limit.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MIDNIGHT (Pacific Standard Time), DECEMBER 16th, 2011. Award recipients will be announced on or before December 23rd, 2011.
